Brake for winding drum of vehicle window mechanism - has integrally moulded metal hooks to retain brake springs

The windows in the doors of a vehicle are raised or lowered by means of a cable which is wound on to a spiral groove (4) cut in a drum (2). The drum (2) is made of plastics such as polyamide and is supported at one end (8) in a housing (22) forming a brake drum. Parts of the end boss (8) are cut away in order to fit brake springs. These springs have hooked ends which engage metallic hooks (40). These hooks, which are L shaped are moulded into the end face of the boss (8) and lie flush with the surface.
