Parting tool insert holder - has slide forming one jaw and swan neck with inverted V=shaped support face

The parting tool insert holder comprises a body with a side mounting sloping towards and downwards and having a support face of inverted-V section for the insert. A slide movable in the lengthwise direction has a support face parallel to that of the body so as to form tool clamping jaws. The body is fixed to its base (2) and has a swan-neck portion (3) extending forwards as far as the tip of the tool (20) with a lower inverted-V-shaped support face for the latter. The support face of the slide (12) is formed by a U-section groove open towards the top, the arms of which are spaced apart for a distance equal to the maximum tool thickness to form a transverse guide for it.
