摘要
A tube provided with internal ring grooves is located on a cylindrical mandrel. An outer tube, with a bore dia. slightly larger than the outside dia. of tube, is then placed on the outside of tube; and high energy welding, esp. explosion welding, is used to distort and bond both tubes to form a composite tube possessing ring grooves on both is external and internal surfaces. The composite tube can be machined on both its external and internal surfaces to eliminate the grooves, and is then cut into separate rings. The process is used esp. to bond tubes which are not normally weldable, e.g. stainless steel and a Zr alloy. Mass prodn. of composite rings at low cost.
