The scaffolding for use on stairs includes an upright (2) and a platform (1) which is adjustable in length. One end of the platform rests on a step and the other end on the upright. The two are joined via connection points (7) of differing heights provided in perforated metallic strips (3,5). A perforated bracket (8) connects to both the platform (1) and the upright (2) to provide rigidity. The platform is formed by a sleeve (12) into which an extension plank (13) slides, having a support (14) on its free end.
