Machine for extn. of juice from soft fruits - separates stones etc. by rotor blades pressing juice and flesh through cylindrical screen perforations

The machine comprises a horizontal cylindrical chamber closed at both ends and contg. a coaxial, cylindrical, perforated screen extending full length of chamber. Within this fixed screen a coaxial rotor is turned by an external motor. One end wall of the chamber has an aperture through which fruit is fed into the screen interior. The opposite wall has a discharge aperture for waste solids to be cleared from the screen interior. Juice pressed through the screen by the rotor is delivered via a drain in the bottom of the chamber. The rotor has a centre shaft fitted with radial arms each carrying a longitudinal blade which sweeps the circumferential inner face of the screen with slight clearance, pref. about 0.5 mm. The rotor pref. has 2-6 blades. At least two blades are pref. angled in opposite directions w.r.t. the swept surface. Between the chamber end wall with discharge aperture and the adjacent ends of the rotor blades, an axial clearance is provided which exceeds the size of fruit stones to be discharged.
