Electronic control circuit for supplementary heat pump - uses circuits which compare exterior and heating water temperature against set levels and provide switching control to heat pump compressor

The electronic control unit has a first path (1) to treat information from an exterior temp. transducer (4), followed by a selector (2) of the regulation regime. A second path (3) processes data from a temp. transducer (5) for the heating water. Both paths terminate in a function comparator (6). The operation of the heat pump compressor (9) is controlled by the comparator output which is passed through a AND gate (7) to a contactor (8) which switches the electric supply to the heat pump compressor motor (9). The AND gate (7) has a second input from an inhibit controller (10) which compares external temperature with a manually set reference (R1-Rn) and prevents operation of the heat pump outside its effective temperature range.
