A catalyst comprises (in wt.% w.r.t. the support): 0.05-0.6 (esp. 0.1-0.5) wt.% of a noble metal of the Pt family; 0.05-4 (esp. 0.2-0.8) In; 0.005-3 of one or more of Mn, Mo and Tc (esp. 0.2-0.5 of Mn and/or Tc); 0.1-15 of a halogen; and a support. Also claimed is the use of the catalyst in isomerisation of aromatics and paraffins, hydrocracking, hydrodealkylation and steam dealkylation of aromatics, and esp. in reforming and aromatics prodn. from gasolines. The catalyst is pref. used as a moving bed. Catalyst activity and life are increased. Under the severe conditions of reforming to high -octane gasoline (min. index 102, clear), hydrogenolysis is reduced.
