Tank is used for the continuous feeding of radioactive scrap in a liq. phase into a mixer, in which the solid scrap will be coated and then fed into a container. The tank is vertical, and consists of a decantation chamber with a conical base terminating in a vertical exit pipe (a). Pipe (a) contains 'Moineau' (RTH) helical gear doser delivering the solid scrap to a mixer. The suspension of radioactive scrap in a liq. phase is continuously circulated through the decantation chamber by a pump and overflow. The shaft which rotates the helical gear rotor of the doser is located in a vertically adjustable sleeve so the amt. of liq. in the solid scrap entering the doser can be varied. Used in conjunction with scrap disposal plant.
