Dispenser for foodstuff to livestock in stables - uses weighing sensor controlling feed to suspended box with delayed action trap door

The batching box (9) is fed by a conveyor (1) and distributes a weighed batch of fodder to stabled livestock, the conveyor using scrapers mounted on endless chains to propel material along a channel (2). Material from the channel passes through a vertical duct (6), controlled by a flap and into the box which is suspended from an adjustable weighing machine, the bottom box outlet being closed by a trap (10). The flap closes when the set weight of material is in the box and the trap is opened by remote control after a set time interval, a counterweight system (33) effecting automatic trap closure. Two end supports (7,8) also connect the box to the conveyor and the weighing machine uses a box-suspension cable (18) traversing pulleys (10,21), a pivoting axle pulley (22) being subjected to a counter couple (20,27).
