Air heat exchanger for domestic fire-place - has horizontal and vertical air boxes with air guide vanes

The heat exchanger consists of a hearth plate (1) with integral guide vanes (3) on the underside, a vertical backplate (2) with similar guide vanes at the back and a distribution discharge duct (6) directing warm air to the room. The hearth and backplate interlock at the corner (5) and form an air duct (4) through which the underflow fresh air flows. The vanes are orientated to direct air to the centre, which is the hottest zone. Fan assistance can be added and additional ductwork provided to serve adjacent rooms.
