The method is applicable to low temp. plasma in combustion chambers, channels of magnetohydrodynamic generators, jet engines and other systems. It is designed for an increased operating life at temp. up to 3200 OK in magnetic fields of inductions of a few Tesla. Errors of less than 5% are ensured in local regions of tens of millimetres magnitude. A command generator (8) for the inductive transducer (3) calibration unit (15) is connected via an electro-pneumatic controller (6). The inductive transducer is connected in series with the measurement generator (4) and detector (5). All are mounted in the probe (1) housing. The measurement generator output is connected to an input of a differential stage (9) via the detector and an optoelectronic transducer (13). The other differential input is connected to a storage element (11). Both differential stage inputs are connected to the changeover switch (10) and the recording unit inputs are connected to the command generator outputs for calibration of the inductive transducer and the differential stage.
