The sailboard has a deck between the hulls, with a pivot on it. This pivot can be locked in on extended position and carries a control system. The connection has positive flotation and the pivot allows a reduction in the width of the boat. Bending is such that the boat centre of gravity is lifted relative to the hull centre when capsized. Locking is by a slotted tongue which engages a cylindrical hinge section.
