The unit comprises a rectangular metal box (1) of length L1, inside which, parallel to the large surfaces (3,4) is a plate made of a dielectric substrate of length L2. On one face of the substrate there are two conducting bands (7,8) symmetrically positioned w.r.t. the median axis delta of the plate. The outer edges of these bands (11,12) are parallel, and in contact with the metal box. Their inner edges however, are parallel for a part of their length (L3), and then diverge in horn shape to the outside away from the median line. This arrangement then provides a transition between (14) the transmission line (13) and the radiating element. The horn is thus formed from walls extending from the rectangular end (15) of the box.
