The turntable is for a lift truck in outdoor storage areas such as builder's supply yards, enabling a vehicle to turn around in a confined area. It comprises a sub-frame (4) mounted on a vertical pivot (10) rigidly connected to a fixed base (2), uses a track (11) mounted on the frame to locate the drive wheel of the truck, and uses the power of the truck to rotate the sub-frame. The wheel may come to rest between an idling roller (14) and a drive roller (15), the latter transmitting wheel rotation to the sub-frame via a gear train (17), a pinion (18) and a crown wheel (9). The truck may use its stabilisers to transfer its weight to two stools (19), the transfer effecting the release of brakes controlling frame rotation and causing the meshing of the pinion with the crown wheel.
