The process is used to make a pointed conical roof for a scale model of a building such as a windmill, entailing the superimposing and gluing together of soft wood rings (1a-1j) of a progressively reducing dia. The top arrises (1a') of each of the rings is then removed by sanding or grinding to obtain the conical form. The dia of the constituent rings may decrease in direct proportion to the distance from the base (1) and the ring width may be 1.5 times the difference between the dia of two adjacent rings. The ring thickness may equal the difference in dia., the top may incorporate solid discs (1h-1j) and the wood may be balsa.
