The linear induction motor comprises an inductor featuring an m-phase winding and electromagnetically coupled with a secondary element which is a magnetic member having transverse slots in which an m-phase insulated winding is embedded. The winding of the secondary is divided into electrically independent sections (5) of suitable (optimal) length. Each phase comprises capacitors (6). Starting leads C1,C2 and C3 of the winding (4) are connected to the capacitors, whereas the finishing ends C4,C5 and C6 of the winding are short-circuited. The secondary element is stationary, however, in principle, a reversed arrangement featuring a stationary inductor is also possible.
