Cylindrical fodder bale cutter - has conveyor advancing bale at right angles to tractor from lifting tines to cutting drums

The machine for cutting cylindrical bales of fodder, for animal feeding, has a structure (1) mounted behind a tractor with the path between its inlet end (10) and discharge end (7) at right angles to the direction of travel. The bale (17) is lifted by forks (4) at ground level onto the horizontal surface (13) of a conveyor (5) forming the floor of the structure, and advanced by it towards the rotary cutters (25,26) adjacent to the discharge point. The forks are swung upwards by horizontal cylinders (12) under the floor, and the bale is advanced and held against the cutters by tined wheels (16) projecting upwards from the chains forming the conveyor. The cutters are formed by two polygonal sided drums, one above the other, with radial cutting elements (28) projecting from them.
