The thermal insulation is for a container or goods vehicle. Against the inner walls (C) of the container are placed rigid or semi rigid plates of insulating material (1) with cut outs (2) to form junctions. The thin edges (6) lock in the cut out of the adjacent plate. The plates are rectangular in shape and the cut outs are made along their longer edges. The outside of the two end plates (1b, 1b') has a cut out (7) pointing inwards. The joint otherwise is similar to those in the side plates.
