The pulley chain guide is for a scraper chain conveyor to which it is fixed. The chain ends are fixed in the guide to form a rack in which a toothed wheel driven by the excavator engages. The chain has vertical links (12) alternating with horizontal ones (11) and is held in the guide (10) by lower parts (21) of the vertical links and with fixed parts (22) of the guide. The link lower parts fit in a longitudinal channel (23) in the guide, which is dovetail shaped. The channel is open at its base.
