A method and an apparatus for threading buckles on straps

Buckles are threaded onto straps, for example for brassieres, in an automatic succession of operations. A length of strap (1) is drawn by means of grippers (8) and the drawn end introduced into one slot (3a) of a two- slotted buckle (3), folded back under the buckle (3) and introduced into the other slot (3b) of the buckle (3) while the strap is cut at a selected length. This cut end is introduced into a single-slotted buckle (2). The two- slotted buckle is brought under a welding station (55) and the drawn end of the strap is welded against the length of strap which lies between the buckles. The two-slotted buckle is brought back to its initial position and the single slotted buckle (2) is moved beyond the two-slotted buckle. The cut end of the strap is introduced into the second slot of the two-slotted buckle, folded back under the buckle and then introduced into the first slot of the two-slotted buckle. The strap thus formed is then discharged. IMAGE
