This invention relates to thiazine quaternary ammonium salts of polyepihalohydrin and the preparation and uses thereof. The compositions are ideally expressed by the polymer unit ##STR1## where Z is S, SO, or SO.sub.2,PPR is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon group,P PR' is a hydrocarbon group, andPP X is halogen.
