AUTOMATIC CORRECTOR FOR THICKNESS OF MOLDING IN POWDER MOLDING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To perform extremely quickly the measurement of a molding and the stage from said measurement up to control by feeding back the packed amt. of raw material powder in accordance with the size value between top and bottom molds detected in the state of pressurizing the raw material powder. CONSTITUTION:An upper punch 2 is brought down to compress the raw material powder supplied into a cavity 6 between said punch and a lower punch 4. The distance between the punches 2 and 4, that is, the thickness H'0 of a molding 9, is measured with a detector 13 and a detecting element 14. The result thereof is inputted to a control circuit 17 where the discrimination of whether the error thereof with respect to the preset thickness (standard) Hs is within a prescribed range or not is accomplished. If the error is within the range, the molding is withdrawn, and if the error exceeds the range, whether the error is + or - is judged. In the case of +, a signal is sent from the circuit 17 to a motor 10 which moves a die 5 downward to decrease the substantial volume of the cavity 6. In the case of -, the volume is conversely increased, whereafter the molding 9 is withdrawn.
