ACID PICKLING LINE EQUIPPED WITH MEANS FOR SPLITTING WIDTH OF STEEL STRIP

PURPOSE:To obtain an acid pickling line which can perform widthwise splitting at need, by providing a slitter for splitting the width of a steel strip between a side trimmer and a shear, and further adding a shear for cutting the length of the steel strip at the inlet side of the side trimmer. CONSTITUTION:When widthwise splitting is performed with the titled acid pickling line, a steel strip 1 after being acid pickled and then descaled is centered with a stearing roll 4. Then, its earing is trimmed with a side trimmer 5. Thereafter, the steel strip 1 is cut to the width of predetermined size along its lengthwise with a slitter 10 to perform the widthwise splitting. If the widthwise split steel strips 1' and 1'' are overlapped, scratches would be formed. Therefore, the pass level of one split steel strip 1'' is raised by a separator roll 11, while the other steel strip 1' is held at the original pass level. Thereafter, the ends of the steel strips 1', 1'' are cut to make these steel strips 1' and 1'' to predetermined length. The steel strip 1' is coiled through a pinch roll 8 round a tension reel 3, while the steel strip 1'' is coiled round another tension reel 14 in the same way.
