REAL RUNNING TIME MEASURING SYSTEM IN MARATHON RACE

PURPOSE:To accuratly detect a real running time for individual runner, by sweeping a reference point such as a start line or a goal with laser beam while transmitting a discriminating number only from a response device to which laser beam is incident. CONSTITUTION:A reference point such as a start line or goal is swept by laser beam 19 modulated by an alternating signal and a discriminating number is transmitted only from a response device 10 to which the laser beam 19 is incident. A receiver 12 serially receives the discriminating number every when a runner passes and this discriminating number and time output are recorded by memories 14, 15. By processing the data stored in the memories with a computer 16, a real running time is measured at every runner and outputted to a printing apparatus 17 or a display apparatus 18.
