PURPOSE:To prevent a crop and to improve yield, by forming the front and rear end-parts of a blank material to be rolled into prescribed shapes before supplying the material to a conical roll of a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The front end part A1 of a blank material A to be rolled is formed into a truncated conical frustum corresponding to the working zone of rolling of a conical roll 1. Further, the rear end part A2 of the material A is formed into a truncated conical frustum almost symmetrical with respect to that of the part A1. And the length l1 of the frustum at the front end side of the material A is made longer than the length l2 of the frustum at the rear end side. The blank material having the formed both front and rear ends A1, A2 is supplied to the roll 1 rotating on its own axis and revolving around the material A to perform drawing.
