WET TYPE OXIDATION TREATMENT OF ORGANIC WASTE WATER

PURPOSE:To perform continuously and smoothly wet type catalytic oxidation by bringing waste water contg. org. materials into contact with pure oxygen, oxygen-contg. gas, etc. in the presence of a Raney copper catalyst to oxidize the same, and performing the regeneration of the used catalyst in liquid. CONSTITUTION:A Raney copper catalyst is packed in a column type reaction vessel 1, and raw water (a) is supplied to the lower part of the vessel 1 by a raw water pump 2 and is passed in upward current through a catalyst-packed layer 3; at the same time, the air necessary for the oxidation treatment is supplied from a glass filter 4 and the raw water is subjected to wet type catalytic oxidation at an ordinary temp. and atmospheric pressure. The regeneration of the catalyst is accomplished by first stopping the supply of the raw water and the air to the vessel 1, and supplying the regenerating liquid in a tank 5 for regenerating liquid for a specified time to the lower part of the vessel 1. The regeneration of the catalyst is accomplished at every specified time, then the pump 6 is stopped and again the raw water and air are supplied to the vessel 1, and the wet type catalytic oxidation is continued.
