CONTROL UNIT OF RESIDUAL PHOSPHORUS QUANTITY IN CONTINUOUS CASTING EQUIPMENT OF PHOSPHORUS DEOXIDIZED COPPER

PURPOSE:To automate the measurement of phosphorus components and stabilize product quality by disposing special mechanisms such as probe connected to a conductivity meter ascending at the same speed by contacting the billet in the control unit of residual phosphorus quantity of phosphorus deoxidized copper. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel 11 of phosphorus deoxidized copper is continuously drawn as a billet 14 through a distributor 10, mold 12 and pinch roll 13. A bridge 16 erected with a pusher 17 having a guide 18 is vertically movably provided to the lower part of the pinch rolls 13 and a base 19 mounted with an air cylinder 20 is vertically movably engages with the guide 18. The end of the rod 20 is connected to a conductivity meter 22 and a probe 21 in contact with the billet 14 is mounted and is so constituted that the billet 14 and pusher 16 descend at the same speed. The conductivity meter 16 is connected to a recorder 26 and an alloy loader 27 and the times of base metal loading are changed by a timer. From the known relations of residual phosphorus guantity and conductivity, residual phosphorus is controlled constant.
