PURPOSE:To miniaturize a tester and to simplify the attachment and detachment of a sample by giving the sample a constant strain rate by making it possible to adjust a roll gap by providing a couple sample tension roll clamps opposing to a sample fixing side clamp linked to a load detector. CONSTITUTION:A sample tension roll clamp consisting of a couple of rolls 4 and 5 is provided opposing to sample-fixing side clamp 2 connected to load detector 1; one terminal of sample 3 is fixed by fixing clamp 2, and the other terminal is fixed by rolls 4 and 5, so that sample 3 will be pulled by turning rolls 4 and 5 in mutually-opposite directions. Roll 4 is fixed to driving shaft 6 being freely rotatable, but roll 5 can turn and presses and parts sample 3 against and from the roll 4 side to give sample 3 a constant strain rate, so that a strain value and stress can be measured.
