A roof well for use on flat roofs has an upper plate part having a centre hole and a nozzle piece jutting down therefrom and connected to a downpipe, whilst the plate part is fitted to the fixed roof surface and is covered with roofing felt, a hole being made in the roofing felt above the centre hole of the plate part. Known roof wells have different advantages and drawbacks according to the choice of material and, in the invention, a roof well offering optimal characteristics is realized by virtue of the plate part 2 being made of lead and the nozzle piece 6, 8 being made of stainless steel. A stable joint is achieved by the fact that a collar 4 by the centre hole of the lead plate juts down into an outer pipe 6, whilst the same collar 4 is lined with an insert pipe 8 consisting of non-corrosive material, which, right at the top, has a projecting edge flange 10 bearing against the top side of the lead plate around the centre hole therein, whilst the insert pipe, beneath the edge of the collar 4, is spot-welded to the inner side of the outer pipe 6.
