Discontinuously moulding longitudinal plastic items which have a large cross-sectional area is defined. The hot plastic, from one or more extruders is fed into one end of a longitudinal mould cavity which corresponds to the finished item. ~The cross sectional area of the extrusion is significantly smaller than the cross-sectional area of the cavity. The shape is kept at such a temperature that the plastic material stays at the mould walls while the material at the centre is still liquid. Subsequently the shape is cooled before the moulding is removed. Used for moulding plastic items having a large cross-sectional cured. (Provisional Basic previously advised in Week 83/32)
