Protection of vines against Plasmopora viticola or downy mildew - uses n-2,6-di:methyl:phenyl N-methoxy:acetyl 3-amino-1,3-oxazolidin-2-one according to fall of infesting rain
Control of plasmopora viticola (Downy mildew) on vines comprises using the fungicide N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-N -methoxy-acetyl-3 -amino-1,3-oxazolidin-2 -one (I) at dosage of 0.25-0.5, pref. 0-3, kg/ha per treatment and according to the calendar expressed by the formula: number of days between a treatment and the following treatment is 29 + (n x a) +b (where a is the number of days from the 29th day after the previous treatment to the day when infesting rain occurs n is equal to O when the infesting rain reappears within the 29 days or else is 1 and b is 1-3 and represents the number of days in addn. to 29+(nxa) which may elapse before the next treatment. The fungicide is pref. sprayed as an aqueous suspension. Control of Plasmopora viticola on vines. The present method gives effective control with a reduced number of treatments per season (a max. of 4 in a wet summer) leading to reduced cost of fungicides and reduced labour.
