ABSTRACTA valving mechanism and method for use of suchmechanism within a blood passageway of a blood accessdevice. The valving mechanism includes a reciprocalplugging means which seals the blood passageway when theplugging means is in the closed position and whichprovides a blood channel for transferring blood there-through only when said plugging means is reciprocatedinto its open valving mechanism position and meansfor reciprocating said plugging means between the closedand open valving mechanism positions.
