HIGH RESOLUTION FAST DIODE CLAMPED COMPARATORAbstract of the DisclosureAn electronic comparator circuit adapted for implemen-tation as an integrated circuit semiconductor device provideshigh resolution and high speed performance. The circuit com-prises a first differential amplifier with clamped diodesthat allow a fast response; a source-follower stage connectedto the first differential amplifier for buffering its outputto enable it to be broad banded; a second differential ampli-fier driven by the source-follower stage for handling largesignal swings while providing additional gain to the output;and a third cascoded gain stage connected to said seconddifferential amplifier to provide increased circuit gain witha rail-to-rail output.
