It may also be alkaline, and used with a strongmineral acid. The method produces calcium ammoniumlactate crystals in the fermented ammoniated condensedwhey. The product is useful as a feed for ruminantanimals. The mixture may also contain forage, rough-age or other plant products which become incorporatedin the solidified product. Calcium ammonium lactatealso can be made in purified form and it is usefulindependently as a feed supplement for ruminantanimals.
