ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA vibration-type density meter includes a mechanical oscillator orresonator having a resonance frequency variable with the density of a specimenfluid around the oscillator. The resonator is of a cylindrical configurationhaving flanges at ends thereof, at least one of the ends being open to introducethe specimen fluid into the resonator. The density meter also includes a PZTelement for exciting the cylindrical resonator, a PZT element for detectingoscillations of the cylindrical resonator, a cover coupled to the flanges of thecylindrical resonator in surrounding relation to the latter, and a circuit forprocessing a frequency signal delivered from the oscillation detector in anarithmetic operation to derive and display the density of the specimen fluidbeing measured.
