ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to a method for preparing the compounds (1RS, 4RS, 5RS), (1R, 4R, 5S) or (1S, 4S, 5R) of formula I: (I) where Y is hydrogen or the residue Z of an alcohol ZOH possible chiral-ment. This method consists in reacting in the presence of an acidic agent, the compound II: (5RS) either with a compound ZOH achiral, reacting the ether obtained with III: wherein R1 and R2 are aromatic groups which may be substituted, of isopropyl or tertiary alkyls, for I where Y = Z, and hydrolyzing, if desired, either with a compound ZOH chiral optically active separating stéréoisimères ethers formed, reacting them with III and hydrolyzing, if desired, the compounds I thus obtained. The compounds I are intermediates in the preparation of cyclopropane carboxylic acids, acid esters lead to insecticides.
