LASER VIDEO DISC STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM

A laser video disc storage and retrieval system (10) for receiving a digital data signal (16) from a computer (13) and comprising an interface transmitter (20) which formats the data signal into a formatted video signal (24) for placement on a laser video disc (30). Interrogation of the video disc (30) produces a video signal (38) conforming to a selected portion of the formatted video signal (38) in memory on the video disc (30). An interface receiver (34) receives the video signal (38) from the interrogation and forms a data signal (42) which is readable by a computer (44), thus selectively storing and retrieving the data.
