Esters of formulawhereinis derived from a carboxylic acid of the pyrethrin or pyrethroid type, and B-0- is derived from an alcohol of the pyrethrin or pyrethroid type characterised in that either or both of A and B comprise a fluorosubsti- tuted methylene moiety directly bonded to the ester carbonyl or the ester oxygen respectively. The esters are prepared by conventional processes from known or novel intermediates, and may be formulated into compositions for combating insect and acarine pests.
