Flammability (難燃 性) conjugated fiber, and a method of producing

Fire retardant composite fibres comprising a fibre-formable polyolefin polymer as a higher melting component (I) and a lower melting component (II), a polyolefin polymer having a m.pt. lower than that of the (I) by 10 deg.C or more, each component contg. a fire retardant (III). The (III) has a decomposition temp. which is 100 deg.C or more higher than the m.pt. of (I) and (II) and has a particle size of 62 microns or less. The (III) is present in an amt. of 3-15 wt.% in each of the components (I) and (II) and is present in an amt. of 5-10 wt.% in the composite fibres.
