The vegetable peeler provides a simple device which can easily be sharpened for right-handed and left-handed users. It has a relatively wide slot (4) which is open at the front and is provided at the back with a rounding (5) so that, on the one hand, the vegetable peel cannot become jammed and, on the other hand, the cleaning of the peeler is facilitated. The processing part (2) has two parallel arms (3) which are disposed in cross-section in a V-shape at an angle of at least 90 DEG to one another.
