Automobile fuel metering control with intermittent fuel injection - has response characteristics adjusted in dependence on measured air pressure

The fuel metering controller comprises a spring biased blocking plate (30) inserted in the suction intake transverse to the flow direction upstream of the throttle. The flow cross-section of the suction intake widens exponentially to the setting path of the blocking plate (30). The blocking plate is pneumatically damped. The pneumatic damping uses a damping vane coupled to the blocking plate contained within a damping chamber incorporating a valve which is controlled by a barometer capsule in accordance with the air pressure. Pref. the equalisation opening controlled by the valve is outside the pivoting range of the damping vane.
