Out of service, i.e. night service, arrangements are provided for a PABX using a switch block and data highway connections to the common control and peripheral controls. No calls are lost due to nominated night service extensions in a priority order as they come in. The extensions are nominated in a determined order so that the calls can be switched through on a PBXing basis through the exchange.
