In cast piece charges (25), the space (26), which is to be filled with liquid explosive (27), between the pieces (1) must be kept very small in order to obtain a high degree of filling with liquid and preformed explosive in the case of difficult shapes of the explosive. On the other hand, the interspaces (26), which are to be filled with liquid explosive (27), between the pieces (1) of explosive must not be too small or have a shape which allows only insufficient filling with liquid explosive (27). By means of a piece (1) of explosive, which has a frustoconical shape, is smooth on all sides and produced by casting, a high degree of filling of explosive moulds with pieces (1) and with liquid explosive (27) can be achieved. The mould (8) used for this purpose has advantageous heat exchange surfaces, due to multiple provision of mould nests (9), so that the cooling-down time is relatively long.
