The gangway-leaf door closer having a device for the closing follow-up control of two-leaf doors has a closer shaft which is loaded in the closing direction by a spring arrangement and which is in engagement with a piston serving for damping purposes. By means of this piston, the hydraulic cylinder of the door closer is subdivided into a pressure space and a pressureless space, these two spaces being connected to one another by means of a return-flow channel which is equipped with a throttle and in which is inserted a stop valve actuable by the stationary leaf. To provide compact gangway-leaf door closers which can be produced cost-effectively with few components and which contain a closing follow-up control and to make assembly easier, the stop valve is integrated directly into the door-closer housing and can be actuated remotely by the stationary leaf by means of a release device assigned to the stationary leaf.
