Pump for liquid media and for application in the field of heat pumps (hydrodynamic magnetic pump)

A helical, tube-like coil arrangement is wound around the core of a surface travelling-field magnet - in the sense of a three-phase motor stator. A magnetisable insert is provided in the outer tube layers, i.e. those remote from the mid point of the core. The travelling rotating field generates, in a peristaltic fashion, tube nodes and antinodes which are capable in sum of delivering the tube contents. It is possible to eliminate other parts mounted in any way or a housing. All liquid or pasty substances can be delivered. The delivery rate and delivery pressure can be varied within wide limits by appropriate selection of the tube width and the number of turns. Parts requiring to be sealed, such as shafts and the like, are eliminated, just like drive motors, so that aggressive chemical substances are to be delivered just as favourably as sensitive biological materials. The very simple design permits cost-effective mass production, so that this pump ought to be widely used.
