Process and apparatus for the ignition of solid fuels in a heating boiler designed for solid and liquid or gaseous fuels

In a process for the ignition of solid fuels in a heating boiler designed for solid, liquid and gaseous fuels, and having a filling shaft for the solid fuels and a burner for liquid or gaseous fuels, a reduced pressure field is built up by a flame emerging from the burner nozzle and extending outside the flow path of the combustion gases arising from the combustion of the solid fuels. The solid fuel is ignited by a portion of the flame gases, and the combustion gases are drawn off by the suction which is thus produced. In an apparatus for performing the process, the burner is arranged such that its flame extends, at least at its beginning, outside the flow path of the combustion gases arising from the combustion of the solid fuels.
