Process for printing textile materials made of cellulose fibres or blends thereof with synthetic fibres with disperse dyes by the discharge resist method whereby the ground of the material is dyed with a print paste which contains a synthetic carboxyl-containing thickener which has been at least partially neutralised with ammonia to a pH within the range from 3 to 8, an N-methylol compound or an N-methylol ether compound of urea or urea derivatives and at least one disperse dye which is alkali-dischargeable to white. The fixation of the alkali-dischargeable disperse dyes for the ground dyeing and of the alkali-stable disperse dyes for the resist print paste is effected by heating the textile material to above 140 DEG C in the absence of inorganic catalysts for curing N-methylol or N-methylol ether compounds of urea or urea derivatives.
