The invention relates to an electronic switching element in multilayer thick-film technology on a substrate, preferably a thermal printing plate for thermal printers, wherein the electronic switching elements in the form of liquid or pasty material mixtures are printed onto the substrate and subsequently heat-treated and insulation layers are arranged between the thick-film conducting layers. The top thick-film conducting layer is applied to a layer with a high temperature coefficient which provides an electric signal dependent on the temperature of said thick-film conducting layer for regulating and/or controlling the electric parameters of the thick-film conducting layer and/or data of peripheral equipment, such as the speed of the paper web in a printer.
