In the case of temperature regulators for hot points having a large temperature difference, for example in the case of cooking ovens, a switch is provided (snap-action switch) which can be set to the desired hot point temperature setting by means of the cam disk of an operating device and can be operated by means of an expansion system. In this case, very large control movements are necessary on the switch for extreme required value settings. These control movements are considerably reduced if, according to the invention, the expansion system, that is to say the pressure capsule, is supported on a lever which can pivot and whose pivoting axis lies on a required-value lever, which can likewise pivot, as a result of which the relative position of the expansion system and the switch can be varied.
