The ambient temperature regulator controls the heat energy transported by a working fluid, controlling (7) the fluid flow rate by variation of the power supplied to the electric motor driving the circulation pump (2). Temperature transducers (11,14) supply temperature related signals to a data acquisition unit (10) which contains arithmetic function units to combine the temperature data in such a way that the output signal is a specified functional of the set input and measured temperature differences. The temperature differences used are between ambient (tac) and the exterior (te), and between outgoing and return temperatures of the working fluid (td,tr). The feedback signal controls (9) an a.c. phase control regulator (8) supplying the pump circulation motor (2). Remotely gathered data is transmitted along the power lines.
